Lafayette County Criminal Records

Lafayette County criminal records are law enforcement records documenting the criminal histories of individuals in the county. Lafayette County Marriage Records

Lafayette County marriage records are available from the Vital Records Office of the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH). These records document every licensed marital union that occurs in the county. You can order a marriage certificate from the MSDH online or by phone, in person, and by mail. To order this vital record in person, visit the Mississippi Vital Records Office at 222 Marketridge Drive in Ridgeland between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. any time from Monday through Friday. The agency accepts by cash, check, money order or credit card/debit card for payment for the vital records ordered and will deliver them by mail in 7-10 days. To order for copies of Mississippi marriage certificate by mail, you should complete and submit the Marriage Record Application Form (Spanish) to:

Your application should include a self-addressed stamped envelope, a copy of a valid ID, and a personal check, bank or postal money order, or cashier's check, for the total number of copies ordered, made payable to Mississippi Vital Records. The MSDH charges $17 for the first certified copy of a marriage record and $6 for each additional certified copy ordered alongside.

Lafayette County Divorce Records

Lafayette County divorce records are maintained by its Chancery Court. The records are divorce decrees issued when marriage dissolutions are finalized in the court. Copies of a Lafayette County divorce decree are available at the Chancery courthouse from the court administrators. You may call or visit the court to inquire about the availability of, and access to, the divorce record of interest.

Lafayette Birth and Death Records

The Vital Records Office of the MSDH issues birth and death records for Lafayette County. The agency maintains these records for every birth and death in the county from November 1912 till date. You can order a Mississpii birth or death certificate online, in person, and by mail. For a walk-in request, visit the Vital Records’ Ridgeland Office at 222 Marketridge Drive. Enclose a copy of a photo ID and a check or money order for the total number of copies ordered. The first certified copy of a Mississippi birth or death certificate costs $17 while each extra certified copy ordered at the same time costs $6.

Lafayette County Probate Court Records

The Lafayette Chancery Court hears probate cases in the county. These are lawsuits relating to the division of the estates of deceased individuals.
